Many websites have been popping up that promise you can download legal free music for ipods. But is it true?

Well, I have to tell you that you can find many songs on the web that are free to download. But the downloads from these sites are most certainly illegal and you could find yourself in a lot of hot water if you download them.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the thousands of lawsuits filed by the Recording Industry Association of USA (RIAA) against people who downloaded copyrighted songs or movies to their computer or ipod. These people have been forced to pay thousands of dollars in fines just because they wanted to grab a few songs for free.

You don’t want to end up in court over some silly song do you?

Fortunately, there is a way to download legal free music for ipods. Well, almost free.

A paid membership site lets you download as many songs and videos your ipod can hold for just one small fee. That’s a lot better than paying 99 cents for all song you want to download from other sites.

Think about it. The typical paid membership site charges around $39 for a lifetime membership which includes unlimited downloads. You could easily find and download 500 of your favorite songs while still only paying $39.

Compare that to other sites that charge per song. Five hundred songs at 99 cents each would cost you $495! Ouch!

It’s obvious that a paid membership site is a much better deal.

Plus, they have a massive selection of music in all genre you could name, they offer technical assistance if you have a hard time downloading a song, and you can download free legal music for ipods with a clear conscience and no fear of lawsuits and legal bills.

If you’re downloading free ipod downloads, you may be breaking the law and you could face serious fines or even jail time. Is it worth the risk? Instead join a membership site that charges one small fee for all the downloads you can handle.

Following jam bands is a blast because of the music, places you notice and cool people you meet. Jam band journals are good ways to keep track of your shows.

Jam Band Journals

Undoubtedly, the Grateful Dead was the greatest jam band in history, but others such as String Cheese Incident have carried on the tradition. Whatever your most adored band is, think back to the last show you saw. What sticks out in your mind? Now think about the first time you ever saw the band. Do you remember the set, people you met and so on? Probably not. The experiences you’ve forgotten are lost to time. If you had kept a jam band journal, this would not be the case.

There are famous instances of people keeping journals throughout time. Of course, Anne Frank’s Diary is the ideal example. In her diary, Anne kept a running commentary of the two years her family spent hiding from the Nazis. While your show experiences better be more lighthearted, keeping a journal will let you remember them as the years pass.

A good jam band journal combines a number of characteristics. Firstly, it should be compact so you don’t have to take up unnecessary space for other things. Secondly, it should have a case to protect it from the elements. Third, the journal should contain blank areas to write email address, phone numbers and set lists. Fourth, the journal should contain cue spaces to remind you to keep notes on specific things. Cues should include:

1. Set list,

2. Location and directions,

3. Accommodations and camping information, if any,

4. People you met, email addresses and phone numbers,

5. Grub and grog,

6. High points of the show, and

7. Any unique things that occurred.

As the shows add up, you’ll be able to look back through your journal to past shows, find information to locate people and generally laugh yourself silly about things that happened. Don’t lose your experiences to time.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the Gilroy Garlic festival. This was the 28th annual festival and ran the weekend of July

28. The location of the festival is Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy. I have heard about this festival for many years and decided to accept the invitation from a friend to attend. I was one of approximately 123,000 people who attended the festival, sampling creations such as Garlic Ice Cream (which I will admit I did not have the courage to even sample. I did try the garlic french fries and became an instant convert to this delicacy) There is literally hundreds of Garlic dishes and relishes to sample or purchase at this festival.

This festival has its own Queen of Garlic who is chosen by a panel of six judges based on her personal interview, talent, speech about garlic and evening gown. Her court is also chosen, for the purpose of representing Gilroy at various festivities. Other activities include the Great Garlic Cook-off, cooking demonstrations by noted celebrities from the culinary world, art and crafts displays with opportunities to purchase numerous hand crafted items by local crafter and artists. A special children’s areas is set up for the enjoyment of all little attendees.

This festival was founded in 1979 by Dr. Rudy Melone as a fundraiser and has been a very successful fundraiser for local charities, raising a total of nearly seven million dollars for assorted causes. Individual groups and charities also run booths at the festival, raising additional funds for their causes. The Gilroy Garlic Festival Association is a non-profit organization intended to support non-profit groups and projects in Gilroy.

Gilroy is located on the central coast of California in Santa Clara County, just few miles from San Francisco. Clara County is known for its high tech employment opportunities and is often call Silicon Valley.

Selling on the web has become one of the new frontiers of commerce. We find it hard to think of anything not being sold and bought every minute over the internet; just have a look on ebay.

Hip-Hop producers were quick to understand the powerful worldwide reach of the net and started selling instrumentals to artists through this channel.

A couple of websites therefore gathered enormous music inventories from professional record label producers, and started selling complete instrumental tracks just like Amazon sell CDs. Pay x amount online, and we’ll ship you a CD with the tracks you purchased. A new market full of opportunities was born.

About a year and a half ago we also understood the potential this new market had. Having promoted our own music on websites such as mp3. com and vitaminic. com, we realised that creating our own service would give us much greater flexibility and reach. We also had around 250-300 instrumentals sitting on our hard drives waiting for rappers and vocalists to rhyme/sing over them. There was no way we could’ve used all of these instrumentals ourselves, therefore why not offer artists worldwide the chance to easily obtain top quality instrumentals for their musical projects?

Hence the birth of La Cantina Productions. Our aim is to give artists who may not be able to afford to buy expensive instrumentals/beats a fair chance to get their music out there. Our typical artists are talented emcees or vocalists, desperately in need of beats, but with little cash.

So how does it all work? Artists just need to visit the website, listen to preview samples of the instrumentals and then purchase the ones they like directly online. We were one of the first websites to offer the possibility to download instrumentals immediately after payment; no more waiting for CDs to arrive through the post, high quality mp3’s can be downloaded immediately.

And it doesn’t end here. Artists record their vocals over our instrumentals and we then take care of promoting their complete tracks in the right places. After years of promoting our own music on the web, we know exactly where the online promotional efforts should be concentrated. Promoting music online requires hard work, but when you know where to go, the job is a thousand times easier.

So in other words, we produce hip hop instrumentals and promote the artists who use them. We take great pride in what we do and hope to see some of our most talented artists make it big over our tracks. We’re not in this for financial gain, but simply for musical enjoyment.

We’re growing fast and are now one of the top online production websites in a market unfortunately already cluttered with “me too” faceless unprofessional services. We’re not trying to be a business, but simply a group of friends hoping to take hip hop to the next level through the reach of the world wide web.

Whether you are using a book, video, a real live human, or online lessons, keep these pointers in mind in order to get the most out our your studies.

1. Complete and master each section before moving on to the next: As you work through your studies make sure you have each new technique or idea conquered before moving on to the next. Lessons are planned to build upon each other and trying to rush through without fully understanding one will just lead to frustration and wasted efforts.

2. Study as if you were in school. Do any homework every night. If all you have is 15 minutes then use those 15 minutes. If you don’t have time to read/watch and apply then do the application of your last lesson or drills such as scales and chords. Reading/watching and not having the opportunity to apply immediately will usually mean you have to relearn your lesson. Take notes. Especially if you’re watching a video or working with a human. Also don’t be afraid to write all over your workbooks and sheet music.

3. Apply what you’ve learned: Play for others. Your church, your family, that spare piano sitting in your favorite department store (ask first). Nothing drives a music lesson home better than a recital. It will also magnify what you need to work on.

These tips work whether your a child or an adult. Learning to play an instrument is a wonderful activity.

The largest wine producing area of the world might be found at the border of the Mediterranean Sea, in between Spain and the Rhone delta. Out of a population of 2. 4 million, there are fifty thousand involved in growing vines. The area they consume spans twenty seven thousand and four hundred square kilometers (10500 miles). There are 400 cooperatives and about 2800 private wineries in the land with Banyuls to the southwest and Muscat to the east. Out of that comes two billion bottles of wine.

The area has hot summers and mild winters. The soil ranges from sandstone and limestone to granite pebbles. Cargnan, Merlot and Grenache other red wines are produced here and among the white wines there is Roussane, Chardonnay and Viognier.

It was the Greeks whoever started the cultivation of vineyards in this area as early as the 6th century BC when the Romans arrived in the region this cultivation was developed and it went on with the Visigoths in the 5th century. The monasteries in the 9th century developed the hillside regions for the vineyards and used the valleys for grains and in the 19th century the plains became vineyards as well. Currently it is the plains of Herault, Gard and Aude that make up a half of France’s overall grape yield.

For some years the quality of wines began to lag but in the past few decades with the emergence of Syrah there is been a return to quality. Syrah is opaque, purple in color, and has the scent of sweet black berry spiced with cassis and black pepper

The Vin de Pay D’Oc has been improving the region’s reputation in the past ten years with the Corbieres and the earthy Minervois.

Most winegrowing areas are dominated by a particular Chateau. In this area this isn’t so, most wines are produces by cooperatives whoever purchase grapes grown on local farms. The grapes are put through a process that includes adding grape spirit. This stops the fermentation, saves the sweetness and raises the alcohol level to fifteen or sixteen percent. Wines such as Vin Doux Naturel made from Grenache or Muscat and Muscat de Frontignan or Banyuls are made from this process. They are wonderful dessert wines and are similar to port when it comes to aging potential.

White wine grown here are also of high quality. The Chardonnay and Marsanne are grown in Argelier, an area west of Bezier. The dry, fresh taste and an aroma of apple and oak comes from the chalky soil and the early harvesting process which allows for only a few hours of skin contact before pressing.

There are other red wines of interest such as the full bodied, spicy Corbieres that are made from Carignan and Grenache grapes grown in marl, sandstone and limestone. There are more than seventy million bottles produced that can go through three to seven years of aging.

In the sunniest region of France the Pyrenees in Roussillon produces another variety of reds. The area is closer to Spain and the Carignan is the main grape variety grown in the region. The wine produced is of medium body, spicy and has hints of licorice.
